April Fool's or What?!
By far, the worst day this week. I am so irritated. Car was acting funny, two no-show appointments, two know-it-alls ('yeah, I have it all figured out. I mean, I would never take two marketing classes in the same semester.' - 'yeah, but you are proposing to take 5 finance classes in the spring, so uhm...' - 'yeah, but why wouldn't I get two majors?' - so I'm thinking, you still don't have it all figured out, and that's why God invented academic advisors, but anyway...). Then I had to move my work storage to a new location for the 4th time (!) in three months. Why do I keep all this crap around? No idea.
Besides the fact that I was running behind and running on empty, the news for my car was not good: cylinders aren't firing consistently, it needs a tune-up, the #2 coil has gone bad, two new tires and an oil change (at least the last two were scheduled maintenance). I get to the garage at 5:30 and the car is not ready. And what do they have for me to drive home in? A freaking 1990s Ford Taurus STATION WAGON! I'm like 'I can't be seen driving around in that!' And to make matters worse, it's an AUTOMATIC. And the gas is on EMPTY. What the hell.
But whatever. I'm home. Home for the weekend. I found a package in my mail box from Deb: a birthday present, which I can't open for another two weeks, but it'll make me smile just to look at every day. And I am reminded that this day would have been even worse without friends who drove me to the mechanic's, cause I sure as heck was not about to take the HEAT bus ;)
So, yay! It's Friday evening, the weekend is here and I am going to enjoy the heck out of it. Sun, flowers, cats, mac & cheese, sleeping in, and maybe a glass of wine.
